Mexico, U.S. trade officials discuss corn exports, environment

After Mexico’s President said his country would not buy GMO corn from the U.S, large ag companies were quickly calling Biden’s foreign trade reps in order to put pressure on Mexico and force the country into submission, thus continuing the flow of genetically modified (GMO) corn into Mexico.

Mexico’s President for his part signaled he would be open to a deal that would only allow corn for animal feed but not for human consumption.

Mexico’s is Americas biggest purchaser of Corn and U.S trade official Tai also stressed the importance of avoiding any disruption in U.S. corn exports to Mexico, the USTR office said in a statement late on Thursday.
