The British media was quick to call Tejal Rao “woke” in order to dismiss her allegations of being a casually racist show.
The Great British Baking Show’s ethnic debacle is not the first time a British show has been called out for making racist or insensitive remarks about ethnic groups.
Top Gear is another T.V show that was criticized for insensitive remarks towards Black and Mexicans.
Clarkson can be heard chanting: “Eeny, meeny, miny, moe…” He then mumbles: “Catch a n***** by his toe”.
