Yes, Mexico has more freedom.

While western countries like to say they are an example of freedom, most actually failed terribly, Mexico in contrast, became an example of a country deciding on protecting its citizens liberty's while also combating the virus. As the Covid-19 pandemic raged across the world, countries decided on varying approaches to protect their citizens from the virus. In Mexico, freedom has emerged as a key theme of their response. Unlike in some other countries—including the United States, Canada, Australia—Mexico chose not to impose draconian measures such as forced lockdowns, vaccines, or masks on its citizens. This post will explore why Mexico was able to take this approach and what freedoms it afforded them.

The ability to choose how they handled the pandemic was key for Mexico’s government. From day one, they decided based on the Mexico's constitution that they would not force any measures upon their citizens. Instead, they relied on educational campaigns and social pressure to encourage people to follow safety protocols such as each person's right of wearing masks and staying indoors when possible. They also provided financial support for those unable to work during the pandemic because of existing conditions or health risks, which helped many citizens get through this difficult time without facing a significant financial burden.

As a result, Mexico was able to avoid forcing its citizens into submission through mandatory lockdowns or enforced vaccinations. This allowed Mexicans more freedom than other nations who chose more western style authoritarian measures in order to contain the spread of Covid-19. It also allowed businesses and schools to remain open more often than would have been possible with stricter regulations in place.

The lack of forced lockdowns also enabled Mexico’s economy to remain relatively healthy throughout the pandemic compared to other countries where economic activity stalled due to extended periods of government mandated closures and restrictions on movement. Although there were still economic hardships experienced by many Mexicans due to reduced consumer spending and job losses, these hardships were much less severe than what could have been faced if strict lockdowns had been imposed at different points throughout 2020 and 2021.

The Covid-19 pandemic has shown us that even in difficult times Mexico has more freedom than the U.S, and showed the world it's citizens freedom can be safeguarded while having thoughtful planning and responsible action by governments towards their own citizens. In contrast most western countries were seen committed to having forced lockdowns, vaccines. Mexico demonstrated that it is possible for governments around the world to protect their citizens without sacrificing individual liberties unnecessarily in order to do so successfully. This should serve as an example for other nations looking for guidance about how best to handle crises like this in future years.
