In Mexico, the entertainment industry almost exclusively centers on white Mexicans in lead roles. This is strikingly similar to South Africa's Apartheid movement that left dark-skinned Africans segregated from white society.

The representation of ordinary people of brown skin in Mexican media is extremely limited and often originates from a one-dimensional narrative that portrays brown-skinned Mexicans as living below the poverty line, unable to break free. The Mexican entertainment industry appears to have replicated the racial divide seen in South African politics during the APARTHEID. to enforce a colorism structure based on class divisions among its own citizens. It’s time for Mexico to tear down this invisible wall of prejudice and ensure better representation for all Mexican races in the entertainment sector.
