See as a child your mind is scared, you start to see what is not there.
Pretending that he's still around, even though he makes no sounds.
Imagining the ringing phone, and daddy saying "I'm almost home."
You see him in the living room, laughing at some old cartoons.
Him sitting in his favorite chair, teaching you that "life aint fair".
"Respect all women" daddy said, and "never keep an evil friend."
He taught you how to swing a bat, and how to keep your car intact.
From doing dishes, to cleaning yards, daddy taught you life is hard.
"If you do drugs I'll kick your ass" as you said "no way" with a laugh.
Daddy was a noble man, who did the things that no one can,
to me he was like superman, who always fought and never ran.
