Don't tell him anything, just leave the guy alone. There is no way to tell him, he either believes you or he doesn't.

You only need to let him know once, and if the guy decides to believe some hater over you, then forget about him. What would happen if you were to get with him...he'll prbably be believing rumors, and drama people spread about you..then ya'll would be fighting ang having problems. So what's the point?
