Up to 10 years in prison and 300 days of fine for those who abandon pets, proposes PRI deputy in Mexico.


The Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI)proposes in the Chamber of Deputies to criminalize the abandonment of pets,particularly dogs and cats.

The proposal, which includes up to 10 years in prison, was made by federal deputy Hiram Hernández Zetina.

The PRI standard-bearer seeks to promote an initiative to reform the Federal Criminal Code and thus punish those who abandon dogs or cats.
