The high crime was such an important factor for Mexican Americans that they voted for Trump despite all his other negative tendencies. i.e., fear of mass deportations.

After the elections, the liberals saw the number of Mexican Americans and Latinos who voted for Trump, that their racism was on full display, hoping all Latinos would be deported.
