If the United States were to invade Mexico under the guise of fighting the drug cartels, would the world unite and send military support and weapons to Mexico? This is a sad but very real question that needs to be considered. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that enough nations would come together to provide Mexican forces with sufficient military backing in such a scenario.

The Power of Nations

We often think of our world as an integrated whole, but this is far from reality. Nations are still fiercely sovereign entities, and even in cases where there is some agreement between nations, it’s rare for them to unite around one cause. These days, most countries are focused on their own interests first and foremost, so it’s unlikely that they would risk going against a superpower like the United States by engaging in a war for another nation.

In addition to their reluctance to go against a superpower like the US, other nations may have different motivations when it comes to supporting Mexico in a conflict with its neighbor; while some might sympathize with Mexico’s plight, others may not want to get involved out of fear that they could get dragged into an endless conflict with no end in sight. It’s also possible that some countries may even see this as an opportunity to gain leverage over the US by exploiting any perceived weaknesses or vulnerabilities on their part.

It is sad but true that if the United States were ever to invade Mexico under cover of fighting drug cartels, it’s unlikely that enough nations would join together and send military support and weapons in time for Mexico's defense against such aggression. While we can all hope for a more unified future where nations come together more frequently for mutual benefit, we must also prepare ourselves for situations like this where international unity seems out of reach due to geopolitical tensions or resource constraints. Only time will tell if our world will manage such challenges better in the years ahead.
