The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, said that giving asylum to Julian Assange would be a show of brotherhood and solidarity.

"Assange does not represent any danger for Mexico," said the Mexican president during his press conference on January 3 from the National Palace.

López Obrador indicated that the country has a solidarity policy of asylum . "The right of asylum is a pride of our foreign policy."
The Mexican president even revealed that he sent a letter to Donald Trump calling on him to drop the charges against Assange.
