A man punched a 14-year-old boy in the face while spewing anti-Mexican statements on a Brooklyn subway train, police said Tuesday.
The NYPD released video of a suspect as the department’s Hate Crime Task Force investigated Monday morning’s attack.
Police said the boy was riding a northbound 4 train with two family members around 7:15 a.m. when his attacker sat next to him.
As the train was arriving at the Atlantic Avenue–Barclays Center station, the man made anti-Mexican statements to the family and then punched the boy in the face.
The boy suffered a small laceration to his nose. The suspect was last seen fleeing the train car, police said.
