1.) The creation of a new national electoral authority whose members would be directly voted in by ‘the people and manage state and local elections.

2.) cuts the forced Government funding to media organizations for political ads.

3.) Cut the pay for overpaid workers; some workers currently get paid more than the president of Mexico.

4.) Cuts unnecessary organization spending; spending grew by 2.5 over the years while actual voting has not.

Deputy Ignacio Mier Velazco, president of the Political Coordination Board, said, "the bottom line in the electoral reform is to prevent the National Electoral Institute (INE) from continuing to be used by some as an instrument of factious control."

Why are some Mexicans against the reforms?

Most of those against the reforms have a vested interest in keeping the Status quo; they have benefited in the past by gerrymandering in elections to suit their own needs.

Large corporations and many affluent Mexicans have been the primary funding source for these rallies, as many see this as their last hope in maintaining some control in Mexico.

if you google the question, "What's inside Mexico's planned Election Reforms?' you'll get a long list of anti-reform news articles. This is how propaganda works in the U.S now. I couldn't find any actual sources letting people know what was actually inside Mexico's reforms. Thank you for posting this!
