Unlike the Orient and Europe the US had a lot of land mass and resources up until 100 years ago. It has been shrinking drastically since then. Should countries not limit immigration as they become crowded and their resources become more limited?

From what I read some Native Americans at first welcomed White people. They actually purposely would live near them so they could feel protected with larger numbers against other Native Americans who were their vicious enemies. Then the Europeans just kept coming and took over all. Shouldn't we learn from that? They didn't benefit from so many foreigners coming so fast- why would we? Yes- what people ever benefitted from massive immigration. The Native Americans didn't. What they refer to as the American melting pot was Europeans. The US has been about 70-80 percent European for at least 200 years- 85 per cent or more for a hundred of those. The Natives here died from disease or fought to their deaths. Very few were taken as slaves in the US and some mixed with Whites, but comparatively few- that's why you don't see many dark people here who can say their families have been here hundreds of years, and most of them would be African American descendents of slaves. The melting pot was Irish marrying English marrying German marrying Norwegian-----

A lot of Mestizos fought for the Independence of Texas. The first Vice President of the Republic of Texas was a Mestizo. There were counties named for Mestizo heroes who fought for the side of what became the Republic of Texas. Most of those early Mestizos became wealthy and were large land owners. There were lots of White Northern Europeans in Texas at that time too who were considered Mexican citizens. They fought for Independence from Mexico because they felt oppressed and wanted something different. A good number of Mestizos in Texas fought alongside them for the same belief. It's all old history now- but the citizens of the U.S. whatever their race and whenever their ancestors came here are citizens. People in Bolivia, Mexico and Argentina are not U.S. citizens any more than Guatemalans are Mexican citizens.

US people should become more informed about the effects the US government & corps have on the rest of the world and demand that it stop. People in other countries should topple their governments and make them into decent places that can support the people. It's all messed up and upside down and on the road to ruin. I read that the final parts of NAFTA are about to go into effect and the shit's going to hit the fan even worse. People have to stand up and fight their governments- not become complacent or run away. Soon there will be no where left to run. The US isn't a magical place that will always remain the same no matter what strains are put on it. Before the years after WW2- and after slavery ended- most everyone was farmers in all countries. After WW2 when the biggest phase of the US Industrial Revolution kicked in, then when Social Programs came to be- that's when people really started to come in in droves. Much more than in the Ellis Island days. Many of those coming now are being exploited by the employers, wages are kept suppressed for US workers, and the foreign employess are being subsidized by US taxes. That way the employers don't have to pay for medical care, etc. Yet the cost of housing, cars, fuel, even grocerices doesn't go down, especially when compared with stagnant wages. It's just corporate welfare benefitting a few already wealthy Americans.
