Western Media covered the large protest in Mexico over the weekend that saw many Mexicans protest against his plan to reform the country's electoral authority; Mexico's AMLO dismissed it as a "racist" and "classist" and even challenged his adversaries to stage a bigger one.
The answer is pretty easy if you follow Mexican Politics; The mass protests against electoral reform were organized by Mexico's elite, many of whom have been considered racist and classist. So his response was for them.
