The Romans eventually conquered these Latins and incorporated them ,at par with them, within the Roman life and granted them Roman Citizenship and all the priviledges of being Romans. As the military and political power of the Romans grew, they defeated one group after another until all the different groups living in Italy became subjets of the Romans. In deference to the sophisticated nature of the Latin Language, Emperor Julius Caesar ordered that the Latin Language be the only Language of Italy and so it became the official Language of Italy and later the Language of the Roman Empire. As a United People now with the rest of all other Italian people the Romans embarked in the conquest of territories outside of Italy and they succeded imposing their authoritiy on most of Europe,Nothern Africa and the Middle East for more than 2000 years.
