Hmm? Nearly all of the human trafficking is coming through the southern border. And by human trafficking, I'm talking about young Mexican females being brought to the US to become "sex workers". They're raped by coyotes, then sold in the US. There are estimates that around 100,000 girls, ages 7-12, are brought to the US to become sex "workers" each year.
It sounds like you don't know what the US has done to Guatemala. In the 1950s, the US overthrew the democratically elected government in Guatemala. Why? Because they nationalized their banana plantations. United Foods (Chiquita, today) was going to lose billions, so they coaxed the Eisenhower administration to support a coup, claiming they were allied with the Russians, which is completely false, based on recently declassified CIA documents. Arbenz, who was the elected leader of Guatemala was forced out of power and a brutal militaristic dictator was installed in his place. However, this dictator pledged his allegience to the US and United Foods. So, the US supported him, even though he killed tens of thousands of his own people, all in the interest of one of our international corporations.
Here's my take. Americans that live on this border have been begging for more protection for a long time, but they have been ignored. We now have a President who claims to be securing America. So these people start saying terrorists could be entering through the southern border, hoping to get the President's attention. They're tired of being ignored, so they're saying whatever they can to get some attention, here. It might actually be working.
